Plans for New ADA-Compliant Entry Way to the Moscow Library

Supporters of the Moscow Public Library, including the Latah County Library District, Friends of the Moscow Library, local engineering firm Hodge & Associates, City of Moscow, and community members, are seeking funding for construction of a new ADA-compliant entry way to the library. Plans call for new stairs and walkways for improved customer egress/ingress, elimination of trip hazards, upgraded exterior lighting, new guardrails, and the creation of a pedestrian plaza for outdoor programs and wireless Internet access.

For more details, see the landscape plan. Targeted donations may be made online here.

Fall and Spring Book Sales

The Friends hold two book sales each year: our Fall Sale is held the first Saturday in October and the Spring Sale the first Saturday in March. Both take place at the Latah County Fair Grounds.  We have our traditional "Friends Only" presale Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM prior to the sale.  If your membership has lapsed or you'd like to become a member, you may sign up at the door.  Dues start at $15 for an individual membership, $25 for family membership, and on up for patrons, saints, etc.

We will open our doors to the general public at 8:00 AM on Saturday. The book sale will close at Noon and reopen at 12:15 PM for sheer pandemonium, our famous, colossal "Buck a Bag" sale.  All the books you can fit into a grocery bag for $1.  The book sale will then close for good at 1:30 PM.   Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own reusable grocery bags for the regular sale and the buck a bag event.
