REOPENING GUIDELINES 

All locations of the Latah County Library District closed on March 18, 2020 in response to the health risk posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The libraries reopened on June 29, 2020.We are happy to be open to serve you!  

To ensure the safety of our patrons and staff, the following guidelines and requirements are in effect in LCLD libraries until further notice. Should the library director and board decide that a COVID-19 emergency exists in our area the LCLD libraries may close at any time. Service updates will be posted on the LCLD website and Facebook page.

  • Until further notice, library patrons, staff and volunteers are required to wear a securely fitting face mask even if they have recovered from COVID-19 infection or have been fully vaccinated. Employees and volunteers are expected to stay home if sick and notify their supervisor immediately if diagnosed with COVID-19 or if exposure to infection is suspected.  The extremely virulent omicron variant of COVID-19 is now present in the U.S.
  • Patrons are asked to please stay home if sick.
  • The LCLD board of trustees and administration strongly encourage all eligible persons to receive the full COVID-19 vaccination for their own protection and to contain the spread of COVID mutations in our communities. People age five and up are eligible for a COVID vaccine. People age 18 and up are eligible for a booster shot. Locations to get a free COVID vaccine can be found at https://www.vaccines.gov/ . We follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and the State of Idaho that unvaccinated people wear a securely fitting face mask and maintain six feet of distance from others not in their household.
  • Patrons not observing staff directives will be asked to leave. Law enforcement may be called upon. Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Public computer keyboard coverings and mice are sanitized regularly
  • Plexiglas sneeze guard barriers are in place at all circulation desks
  • Self-serve holds are available at Moscow
  • Curbside hold service will continue at Moscow, and at branch locations depending on demand. Check with your local library for details.
  • Touchless self-check machine is available at the Moscow Library
  • All in-library programming has been suspended until further notice. Watch our Facebook page for youth and adult virtual program offerings.
