Moscow – Community Conversations
The University of Idaho’s College of Graduate Studies is developing a “Community Conversations” event series designed to bridge the gap between graduate education and the public.
The Goals of the program are to…
- To increase community engagement with graduate research by translating complex academic work into accessible, community-driven discussions that address local problems and move research out of the “ivory tower” and into the hands of the people it impacts most.
- Allow Grad students to share their work with a larger audience and show how their research can help individuals and communities in practical rather than theoretical ways.
- Increase lower income individuals’ exposure to higher education, what it does, and its availability.
- And boost local interest in attending grad school for local professionals who have their bachelor’s already.
