Moscow Seed Library

Palouse Exchange-a-Seed (P.E.A.S.) is a volunteer-run seed swap that’s free to the public. The P.E.A.S. program provides free seeds to the Palouse to encourage lifelong learning, create sustainable nutritional resources, promote seed diversity, strengthen our community, enrich our physical environment, and help sustain pollinators.

Whether you need seeds to get your home garden started or have excess seeds to share, you can find what you need by visiting the Moscow branch of the Latah County Library District.

Find Seeds

P.E.A.S. is housed in a classic card catalog cabinet at the front desk of the Moscow Public Library. Stop by during normal library hours to browse the collection and borrow what you need. Alongside our seed collection, volunteers have also compiled helpful gardening information such as planting instructions, schedules, and suggestions for ideal local crops. Be sure to review our rules and use guidelines before selecting the seeds you need.

Seed libraries and seed sharing programs can also be found at the Deary, Juliaetta, and Troy branches of the library.

Share the Wealth

Seed donations for P.E.A.S. can be dropped off at the Moscow Public Library. Have you grown something from our communal seed resources? Send us a picture at programming@latahlibrary.org!
